The Ethio-France Business and Investment Forum kicked off in Paris, France on Monday as Ethiopian and France businesses aspire to create a partnership in various sectors.
Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen said that Ethiopia is the origin of mankind, a country with diverse culture and a preferred destination for foreign direct investment (FDI).
Ethiopia is implementing different reform programs for a sustainable growth and to bring a rapid inclusive growth, according to the Deputy Prime Minister.
Trade and investment are key areas to enhance cooperation between the two countries, he further stated.
The government has attached a great attention to create favorable investment climate for foreign investors, he indicated.
Ahead of the forum, the Deputy Prime Minister also held talks with members of Africa’s committee of the Movement of the Enterprises of France (MEDEF) International.
He provided a briefing to them on the reform programs introduced by Ethiopia to encourage investment in the country.
Members of Africa’s Committee commended the homegrown economic reform agenda launched by the Government of Ethiopia.
The Members also pledged to increase their investment in the east African nation.
