Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gedu Andargachew thanked the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) for its valuable support to Ethiopia’s Industrialization drive.
When the Foreign Minister received and held talks with Ms Aurelia Calabro, UNIDO Representative and Director of the Regional Hub in Addis Ababa, he appreciated the transformational role of the Organization in Ethiopia’s industrialization process.
The Foreign Minister has confirmed that the Government of Ethiopia is committed to provide all the necessary support for the development projects run by UNIDO.
Appreciating the ongoing reform in Ethiopia, Ms Aurelia Calabro said, UNIDO has been providing necessary support in the textile and leather sectors as well as agro-industry parks and other investment projects.
Ms Calabro further stated that UNIDO will provide the support to ‘Beautifying Sheger” Project initiated by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed which will run along Addis’s rivers and develop green spaces along the 56-kilometer long river banks.
Ms Calabro invited the Government of Ethiopian to take part the 18th session of the UNIDO General Conference, which will be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) from November 3 to7, 2019.
