Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia has encouraged Japanese investors to take part in various investment sectors in the country.
While Ethiopia’s State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Markos Tekle held talks with a business delegation led by Nobuhiko Sasaki, Chairman of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), he called upon Japanese investors to take advantage of Ethiopia’s conducive investment climate.
With a view to attracting more foreign direct investment (FDI) from Japan, Ethiopia is preparing to promote the investment potential and various investment opportunities by participating at the 7th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 7) that will be held from August 28-30, 2019, he added.
The State Minister confirmed that the Government of Ethiopia is committed and always ready to provide all the necessary support to foreign investors coming to invest in the country, according to Spokesperson office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia.
Appreciating the ongoing reform process in Ethiopia, Nobuhiko Sasaki, Chairman of Japan External Trade Organization said Japanese investors have engaged in different investment sectors, adding that more investors have shown interest to invest in the country so as to speed up industrialization and economic development.
JETRO opened its office in Addis Ababa on July 20, 2016 as its 74th oversees office in 55 countries, it was learned.
